Tiny Island The title song for this album has gone through many crews and incarnations since it was first hatched in Oregon in the early '70's. Leo Kottke covered it on his Greenhouse album then, and it has been evolving ever since...from the original Sunnyland Band in Portland, through various island combos across the Hawai'ian chain... After three decades of these travels, most of the musicians who bring these tunes to life by now are considered honored friends. They brought that to the music...which was definitely part of the 'mana'o' (mindset) that was intended. Although some cover songs are included, this was a homegrown project from the ground up, tracked on three different islands in Hawai'i, and one more in Tahiti... Tiny islands are very much like small towns from which lessons can abound. In this period of 'advanced civilization', suddenly we are all living 'close' to each other...Try take a number now by the old secret waterfall..."When will they ever learn, etc...?' These tunes reflect some of the sunshine and rain along the way...
